About Us
Youngblood Vintage is owned and operated by myself, Keisha Youngblood, with the frequent help of my very supportive husband and children. I would list them all here as unpaid employees, but they have requested that I not do that.
I am the daughter of an antique dealer and grew up in antique stores and flea markets. I very fondly remember growing a collection of atomizers at a very young age and was struck by the beauty and originality of their designs. More than that, they became invitations to past worlds, as I could very faintly smell their old perfumes and imagine the women that owned them and their respective lives.
I have a profound love of functional art and cannot think of anything I would rather be doing then talking to people about their past, and their lives, and how the objects they collect reflect their very unique world. I began working with vintage in 2009 at Chicago shop, Mint Home. After migrating to Glenview, I now offer furniture, pottery, art and the like out of a warehouse in Glenview, IL.
When needed, each piece is stripped, stained, and sealed with water based polycrylic and necessary repairs are made to ensure that the pieces are structurally sound. The pieces are sometimes modified to ensure that they can live a second life.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions and thank you for your interest in my venture!
